Rainforests

Rainforests

Artist Lily Hawkes is currently working with children from Hanover primary school on a project inspired by the world’s rainforests. Children have been exploring the plethora of flora and fauna that can be found in the rainforest as well as learning about the communities of indigenous people that make the rainforest their home. The children have also had the chance to learn about why preserving our rainforests is essential and the practices/events that are contributing to its destruction. Children have been working 1:1 with Lily to create drawings, paintings and sculptures inspired by images of plants, flowers and animals as well as studying the work of artists who have been inspired by similar themes. Rainforests will also be the theme of the upcoming three-week intensive project at Hanover school, which will take place in the summer term.
